Finishing a basement and designing a basement are two very different things. Basements have unique obstacles and the layout options can be limited. For a basement to not look like a basement, it needs to both incorporate finishes consistent with the existing home and it needs to have a functional design. For example, doors & closets need to be properly sized and located, ceiling pipes and ductwork need to be hidden in a way that actually looks good, and a potential living room or bedroom must take into account furniture size and placement. This is where our design studio sets us apart.We begin every project with a walk-through of the basement and an idea exchange with the homeowner. We take detailed measurements and photographs at this time as well. If we are hired, we take this information to our design studio and incorporate it into a 3D computer design which reflects what the basement would look like upon completion. We feel that a computer design is better and more accurate than a pencil sketch on a piece of paper. All designs are created in house by our design studio team, and we offer this service for free if we are hired to finish your basement. We also offer our design studio service to homeowners who may not hire us to finish their basement, but would like for us to design it. We can provide you with multiple 3D views, detailed measurements, and a plan view which can be used as a guideline to finish the basement . This invaluable service is available for a fee of $675.00.
